Effective Altruism Aachen
Compassion.
Reason.
Action.
We're a community in Aachen for people trying to have a positive impact with their lives — engaging with interesting ideas, and helping each other use our careers to tackle the big problems of our time.
What we do
Effective altruism is a global community of people who have made helping others a core part of their lives, and who use evidence and careful reasoning to figure out how to do so as effectively as possible.
For an in-depth exploration we recommend joining an introductory fellowship, or check out the resources we've curated for you.
A way of thinking about doing good
New to the ideas? Start with this introduction to effective altruism.
The flowchart maps how different empirical and value judgements lead people toward different focus areas. It was made in 2015 and EA ideas have evolved since — see our reading recommendations for a current overview.
We're committed to doing the most good we can — using our time and money as wisely as we can.
